14th October 2026

Our next event will take place on the 14th October in the City of London. Speaker details are below.

Stephen Arnold, Founder & CIO

Stephen Arnold is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Aoris Investment Management, an independent global equities boutique based in Sydney.

With more than 30 years investing in international markets, Stephen is one of Australia’s most experienced global equity investors. In founding Aoris he used his prior experience at multiple firms to create an investment led and client aligned firm.

Before founding Aoris, Stephen was Head of International Equities at Evans & Partners, where he built and ran the same focussed global equities strategy Aoris manages today.  Over six and a half years, the strategy generated returns in the top decile of a broad peer group of international equity funds and managed over A$1bn for private wealth clients.

Stephen also has a strong connection to London. He lived there from 1999 to 2008, spending most of that period at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. At Goldman Sachs he gained valuable experience working with Matt McLennan (now at First Eagle) and held a senior role in a small team managing an approximately US$5 billion concentrated global equity portfolio.

Stephen holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney and is a CFA charterholder.

Mikael Petersson, Portfolio Manager

Mikael founded the Coeli European Equity Fund in August 2023, bringing over 30 years of financial markets experience. His background as being the first hired analyst at Lansdowne Partners under Stephen Heinz has been the template for his investment philosophy today.

In this session, Mikael will discuss what sets his approach apart: the combination of disciplined stock picking and active portfolio construction. He will explore how the team identifies “misunderstood” businesses, companies trading below their true worth where management can act as a catalyst to unlock value. With the European equity space increasingly dominated by benchmark hugging strategies, this session will examine the case for a concentrated Small-Mid cap European approach run by a manager who treats portfolio construction as seriously as stock selection, a combination that is becoming increasingly rare in today’s market.

Caspar Trenchard, Investment Director

Caspar joined Zeus in 2021 to help establish and lead our new investment management offering.

He brings extensive, and somewhat unique, experience and expertise derived over c.30 years within the UK Equities investment arena, including senior roles on both the buy and sell side at leading firms including Merrill Lynch, Cazenove and Standard Life Investments. In particular, over a decade running institutional and retail funds, he delivered persistent top decile returns and was Citywire AAA rated.
