Michael is a partner of Castlebay Investment Partners LLP. In his career he has held senior roles at Bessemer Trust, Deutsche Asset Management and Credit Suisse Asset Management. His career has spanned global equity investing, wealth stewardship and strategic financial oversight. He holds an MBA from Cranfield and combines deep technical expertise with the patience required to deliver long-term, sustainable wealth creation.
Michael launched the YFS Chawton Global Equity Income Fund in May 2019. The investment objective is to deliver capital growth, a meaningful income stream and growth in this income over the long term.
The fund is managed using a quality value approach centred around corporate cashflow lifecycles. A select number of companies are identified that exhibit strong economics and low financial risk. These businesses are then mapped onto the five-stage lifecycle stretching from early-stage growth to maturity, to test whether management’s capital allocation is likely to drive shareholder value creation. Investment is made where the estimated intrinsic value of the company is well in excess of the current market value.
A company’s share repurchases and dividends increase as it moves through its lifecycle. This allows the Fund to deliver value creation through growth and to build an attractive income stream over time.
