Adam Rackley, Investment Director
After working as an analyst at the Alliance Trust, Adam joined Montanaro Asset Management, where he managed a small-cap income fund. Leaving the City in 2010, he taught the CFA qualification at BPP, and later managed equity research teams for CRISIL in Mumbai. In 2015 Adam returned to London and set-up Cape Wrath Capital.
He has degrees in Philosophy, Politics & Economics, and Finance & Financial Law. Adam has served as a platoon commander with the 1st Battalion Black Watch and is the Principal at ‘Alpha Coach’, a leadership programme for portfolio managers..


Richard Penny, Fund Manager
Richard joined CRUX Asset Management in June 2018 and started managing the TM CRUX UK Special Situations Fund in October 2018.
Prior to this, Richard had worked at LGIM for 15 years where he had managed the award-winning L&G UK Alpha Trust and L&G UK Special Situations Trust as well as several segregated mandates. Previously he worked at M&G Investment Management, and prior to that Scottish Amicable Investment Management. Richard has a master’s degree in Engineering and Economics from Oxford University.


Simon Murphy, Fund Manager
Simon Murphy qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in 1997 before joining M&G Investments on the UK equity desk. He spent nearly 10 years at M&G, running the M&G UK Growth Fund from 2004 to 2007.
In 2008 Simon moved to Merian Global Investors where he spent nearly 11 years as manager of the Merian UK Equity fund and head of the UK Large Cap equities team, the latter of which ran combined AUM of £3.6bn.
Simon has been the lead manager of the VT Tyndall Real Income fund since 31/01/2020.
