Kunal Desai, Portfolio Manager
Kunal is Co-Portfolio Manager for Global Emerging Markets Equities at GIB Asset Management. Kunal has over 10 years of experience in investing in Emerging and Frontier Markets, having most recently been a Partner at Mobius Capital Partners. Prior to Mobius Capital Partners, he was the Lead Manager of the award-winning Neptune India Fund as Head of Indian Equities, and also served as a portfolio manager on the Neptune Global Emerging Markets Fund. Kunal was listed as one of the Rising Stars of Fund Management 2023 by the Financial News.
He graduated from Oxford University with a first-class degree in Economics and Management and is a CFA Charterholder.
Mark Ellis, CEO and CIO
Mark founded Nutshell Asset Management in 2019. Mark has a 25+ year history in trading and investing for a number of leading financial institutions, including NatWest Markets, Citibank and Symmetry Investments.
As well as a degree in Economics from LSE, Mark has an MSc (Distinction) in Finance from Cass Business School, where his dissertation on Momentum Trading was subsequently published in the Journal of Asset Management.
Joshua Northrop, Fund Manager
Joshua started his investment career in 2013 and joined Whitman in 2018 from Hargreave Hale, where he worked as part of the wider, award-winning UK Small-Mid Cap Equity team. Joshua co-manages the WS Whitman UK Small Cap Growth Fund and AIM IHT Portfolios with Sean O’Flanagan.
He has a particular interest in un-earthing unloved growth stocks within the technology, media and telecoms sectors. Joshua is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
