Alan Bartlett, Portfolio Manager & Partner

Alan began his career in investment consulting and manager research, holding senior roles at Hymans Robertson and Aon before moving into multi-manager fund development. He co-founded Goodhart in 2009, where he spent a decade building and supporting boutique investment firms and later served as CIO of Templeton Global Equity Group until 2023.

His investment style is thematic and long-term, with a focus on structural opportunities, combining value-oriented stock picking with a flexible approach to portfolio construction and risk.

Matthew Beddall, CEO & Fund Manager

Matthew worked at Winton for 17 years, eight of which he served as Chief Investment Officer. As CIO, he had responsibility for overseeing the firm’s investment activities, including the flagship Winton Futures Fund. During his tenure, Winton grew to have $32 billion in assets making it one of the largest hedge funds in Europe. He also sat on the Board as a Director, and on the Executive Committee.

Matthew previously graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Applied Statistics. His extensive professional experience has given him a strong set of investment beliefs, all of which he applies to his own money within the WS Havelock Global Select Fund.

Stephen Deane, Partner & Portfolio Manager

Prior to Skerryvore Asset Management, Stephen was a portfolio manager within the Janus Henderson global emerging markets equities team from 2016 to 2019. Stephen started his investment career in 2010 working as an investment analyst at First State Stewart (formerly First State Investments) before becoming co-manager on their global equity funds.

He started his career with Accenture, where he worked on developing strategy for clients primarily in the technology, media and telecommunications industries. Stephen holds a BA(Hons) degree in psychology from Trinity College, Dublin and an executive MBA from INSEAD, Paris.
