Graeme Bencke, Fund Manager
Graeme Bencke joined Amati in May 2022 as a Fund Manager for the WS Amati Global Innovation Fund. Graeme began his career as an equity analyst at F&C Investments before going on to manage the European Smaller Companies fund for 5 years. He then spent 12 years with AIG (later renamed PineBridge Investments) where he led the European and then Global equity teams, combining this with his role as Equity Strategist for the Group.
His interest in innovation extends beyond the fund through his non-executive role at Torvius where he helps to mentor start-up companies. Graeme Trained and served as flight lieutenant in Royal AirForce, holds a first-class BSc in Business Management from Royal Holloway University of London and is an associate member of the Society of Investment Professionals (ASIP).
Dr Manny Pohl, Chairman
Manny co-founded ECP Asset Management in 2012 to invest actively in mid-market Australian growth companies, which has since expanded into Global equities. He is broadly recognized as an authority on growth style investing, having received many awards from recognised industry bodies.
Prior to founding ECP, Manny built Hyperion Asset Management Limited into one of the most successful boutique managers in Australia. He has served on the boards of several major corporations in Australia, London and in South Africa, including the World Bank and the IMF. In 2019, Manny was privileged to be recognised by the Queen in her Birthday honours and awarded the Member of the Order of Australia medal for his contribution to the Australian financial services industry.
Manny has over 35 years of investment experience, initially as Head of Research for leading South African broking firm, Davis Borkum Hare, followed by Westpac Investment Management. He holds Engineering and MBA degrees from the University of Witwatersrand, and a Doctorate in Business Administration (Economics) from Potchefstroom University.
Samantha Lamb, Head of Fixed Income
Samantha is the Head of Fixed Income at GIB Asset Management and has overall responsibility for GIB AM’s Fixed Income capabilities.
Samantha joined from abrdn, where she was Head of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), Fixed Income. Part of a team responsible for £180bn of AUM, Samantha led the integration of ESG considerations into investment decisions and drove ESG innovation through, for example, launching one of the first SRI Corporate Bond funds. Samantha previously held the position of Investment Director, Fixed Income at Standard Life Aberdeen and over her more than 17 years of experience, has had roles at Aegon Asset Management, JP Morgan and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.
Samantha holds a BA in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Leeds and is a CFA Charterholder.
