Matthew Beddall, CEO and Fund Manager
Matthew worked at Winton for 17 years, eight of which he served as Chief Investment Officer. As CIO, he had responsibility for overseeing the firm’s investment activities, including the flagship Winton Futures Fund. During his tenure, Winton grew to have $32 billion in assets making it one of the largest hedge funds in Europe. He also sat on the Board as a Director, and on the Executive Committee.
Matthew previously graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Applied Statistics. His extensive professional experience has given him a strong set of investment beliefs, all of which he applies to his own money within the LF Havelock Global Select Fund.


Jason Mitra, Founder and CIO
Jason Mitra is the Founder, CIO and lead Portfolio Manager of Sephira and has over 24 years of industry experience of which the majority was focused on emerging market equities. Jason started out in derivatives trading and research and has been a portfolio manager for emerging market equities since 2007.
Prior to setting up Sephira he was portfolio manager at Moore Capital Management and the $1bn emerging markets hedge fund Carrhae Capital where he formed the core team which then span out with him to set up Sephira in 2017 and where the team started its successful track record. Jason holds an MA in Economics and Politics from Edinburgh University.


Simon Murphy, Fund Manager
Simon Murphy qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PwC in 1997 before joining M&G Investments on the UK equity desk. He spent nearly 10 years at M&G, running the M&G UK Growth Fund from 2004 to 2007.
In 2008 Simon moved to Merian Global Investors where he spent nearly 11 years as manager of the Merian UK Equity fund and head of the UK Large Cap equities team, the latter of which ran combined AUM of £3.6bn.
Simon has been the lead manager of the VT Tyndall Real Income fund since 31/01/2020.
